On January 16th, PURE Bioscience (OTCQB: PURE) announced that its SDC-based food safety solutions strategy was gaining traction and that it had received initial orders from three food processors. Hank Lambert, CEO of PURE, said that, "Gaining this initial traction with processors, combined with the prospects we see for restaurant chains, serves as strong validation of our strategic positioning of SDC for the food industry."

Today, PURE announced that it completed the first phase of the SDC antimicrobial technology transfer to its collaboration partner, Intercon Chemical Co., for processing in ICC's dedicated new production facility in its St. Louis manufacturing location.
- The outsource manufacturing and supply chain management increases capacity and lowers operating costs and future capital requirements for PURE.
- ICC has previously licensed the distribution rights for SDC-based products to its core businesses (institutional cleaning and sanitation products) and is developing a new initiative focused on US hospital, healthcare and medical facilities.
- The final phase of transfer is expected to be completed in calendar Q2 2014.
