Workshop on ZED : Maturity Assessment Model for Zero Defect & Zero Effect 24 April 2015: 0900 Hrs: Hotel Westin, Velacherry, Chennai | ||||||||||
Introduction Responding to the call given to Indian industry by Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India to make products with Zero Defect and Zero Effect, implying world class quality with minimum environmental impact, the Confederation of Indian Industry has launched the ZED Campaign in India. The ZED campaign is a holistic programme intended to develop competence, enhance technical capabilities, ensure best practices among the entire spectra of Indian manufacturing industry. In order to give a clear road map of aspects of the industry, that need to be guided for improvement, CII, in consultation with experts from industry and the Quality council of India, has prepared a Maturity Assessment Standard. The Standard provides benchmark status across five maturity levels over 61 parameters that an industry typically needs to addressing producing quality products and in environment protection measures. The Standard is not a compliance model, but is open ended and serves a basis for any organization to self assess its current maturity level and the next steps it must take in its quest from being a struggler to becoming world class. The Model does not distinguish between organization size and is equally adaptable for small and large organizations. Given the above background, CII Chennai Zone jointly with CII Institute of Quality is organizing a Workshop on ZED : Maturity Assessment Model for Zero Defect & Zero Effect scheduled on 24 April 2015: 0900 Hrs at Hotel Westin, Velacherry, Chennai.
