Staffing Industry covers a meagre 2% penetration of the possible employable size in India. Of the 400m employable in India, about 10% are employed in the organised sector, and while about 250m are self-employed. This leaves almost110m who are employed by the temp/ flexi-staffing and the unorganised sector. ISF is working towards growing this market. The Indian Staffing Federation is a member of CIETT - The International Confederation of Private Employment Agencies based in Brussels. |
| ISF NEWS | | INDUSTRY TRENDSCITY - SECTOR SWEET SPOTSWHAT CITY-SECTOR CLUSTERS TOP OUTLOOK Delhi and Bangalore form a clutch of high-growth clusters that leave out – most conspicuously – the IT and Telecom sectors. Delhi has a healthy dose of Employment and Business sentiment spread across multiple cities. With both sentiment though, clusters are few and far between, with incremental growth across most sector-city combinations adding up to the overall outlook.

Chief Executive OfficerFuture Human Development Ltd. ![]() What role does staffing play in helping Nation building ? In a country like India, Staffing Industry plays a key role in meeting the Organization level requirements specifically in terms of profile, time and location by mobilizing, inducting & placing people. Staffing industry plays a vital role of creating awareness about available openings at an organization level amongst those who could potentially fulfill those roles | STAFFING INDUSTRY VOICE | Farhan Azmi Chairman & Managing Director Futurz Staffing Services Pvt. Ltd.Shared his views on estimated staffing industry growth There is a great growth potential in the staffing industry over the next 5 years. The sectors likely to grow are Retail, food processing, FMCG, manufacturing, BFSI and IT/ITES. The Indian staffing industry is estimated worth INR 266.5 billion. This is broken down between flexi staffing 75% which equals to INR 199 billion, permanent recruitment 12% which equals to INR 32.5 billion and other services 13% amounting to INR 35 billion. There are an estimated 1.3 million temporary workers presently in the organised sector will swell to 4.5 million workers in the next 5 years.
Considering the pace at which the industry is growing in India it can easily outnumber all countries in the next 12 years with the sheer size of flexi-staff deployed in the formal sector, given the opportunity. By 2025, it is expected that 10% of the overall workforce in India could be working in a flexible capacity through staffing companies. | Read More »
