Objective:
The Objective of the Session is to understand the impact of the Union Budget to be Presented by Hon’ble Finance Minister in the Parliament, both on the Indirect Taxes & Direct Taxes. This session also clarifies various changes/amendments in the Union Budget for the year 2014-15.
Faculty Profile:
Mr Kunj Vaidya, Partner, PwC Chennai
Kunj is a Chartered Accountant (India), holds Master of Business Administration from Sam Walton School of Business, USA and he is also a Certified Public Accountant (USA).Kunj leads PwC’s transfer pricing practice in Chennai, India. He also double-hats as Transfer Pricing Dispute Resolution Lead for PwC India under the guidance of national transfer pricing leadership. Kunj has more than thirteen years of experience in providing quantitative and strategic analyses to companies interested in establishing pricing policies. This includes providing assistance in accordance with transfer pricing requirements in the US, Australia and India.
His experience includes transfer pricing audit defense, Income tax Appellate Tribunal, advance pricing agreements (APA), planning studies and global documentation for compliance requirements. In his career as a transfer pricing specialist, he has worked on several APAs involving various jurisdictions – India, Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, the UK and the US.

roperty (IP) migration, including buy-in payment structuring, valuation and planning related aspects.Mr Aravind Srivatsan, Executive Director, Direct Tax, PwC Chennai
Aravind is a Partner in the Tax and regulatory practice of PwC, currently based in Chennai. He is a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, is a management accountant and a Company Secretary. He is specializes in inbound investments and has over the years worked intensely with Japanese, American & Korean business houses and has expertise on matters relating to Investment policy and benefits at both Federal and State level, practical application of tax treaties/Revenue code to aid business & actively represents before the Indian Revenue on matters relating to dispute resolution.
He has hands on experience on business, regulatory and tax issues and advising/providing solutions to infrastructure projects in India including Ports, Shipping Oil & Gas, Urban infrastructure (metro projects ) & Power sector.
Mr M Harisudhan, Associate Director, PwC Chennai
Hari is an Associate Director in the Indirect tax practice of PwC Chennai. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 8 years of experience. His experience in handling indirect tax matters, corporate restructuring and mergers. Prior to joining PwC, he has worked with another Big 4 firm. Hari has been involved in the indirect tax advisory work of an auto major in their set up.He was involved in location feasibility study and tax impact for a large wind-mill manufacturing Company. He was involved in undertaking tax impact analysis across various States in India. He was also involved in Price Walk study (indirect taxes) of a major passenger car company in respect of their proposed products.
