Dear Sir/Madam,
Greetings from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur !! !
With immense pleasure we would like to inform you that Jaipuria Institute of Management Jaipur in association with National HRD Network, Jaipur is organizing a National Conference on “Youth 2025: Harnessing India’s Demographic Dividend” on February 8-9, 2014.
The Conference aims to provide a platform to bring together youth, youth organizations, government officials, academicians, scholars, practicing managers, organizations devoted to youth and human resource development to exchange research findings, views and experiences on managing and developing youth potential in order to harness the best out of demographic dividend potential for India.
Of late, India is witnessing unprecedented demographic changes. This is likely to contribute to substantial increase in potential labour force in the country. The census projection shows that India will be one of the few countries in the world with huge number of young population. By 2025, the average age of Indians will be around 25 years and as large as half of Indian population will be dubbed as young while major economies of the world including China will have ageing population. Indian dependency ratio (ratio of non-working population to working population) will decline for India while it will tend to increase for the rest of the world. This is likely to bring about tremendous boost to economic growth in India.
Nevertheless, with impediments like lack of education and skills, gender discrimination in labour market, and poor human development indicators, the demographic dividend may turn into demographic liability. The effective labour force participation of young population will depend upon employability of youth. An educated, skillful, healthy, and happy youth can only bring about the required dividend for India. Are we gearing enough to harp on demographic dividend? Is demographic dividend a reality or a myth for India? How can India harness demographic dividend by focusing on youth?
Research papers are invited on all topics relevant to the conference theme of Youth 2025: Harnessing India’s Demographic Dividend. Broad division of topic into following thematic panels has been made. Papers outside the suggested thematic panel are also invited.
Select papers of the conference will be published with ISBN by reputed publishers.
