iPhone's positioning of cheaper version(5c) will dilute the brand image of Apple
Apple iPhone stands not only for Quality it provides but also symbolises a lifestyle statement for many. With Apple adding a cheaper version of the iPhone in its portfolio (iPhone 5c), sales numbers will soar up. But will it hurt the overall 'brand value' Apple stands for? Will positioning it as a mass market product take away from the 'premium' brand positioning Apple had and will users move away to competitive offerings from other brand?
I AGREE
Rajiv Makhni
Gadget Analyst and Television Presenter
"It's only perceived cheaper in countries like the US, where the operators subside the iPhone by locking you into a contract for 2 or more years. It seems Apple has dropped the ball with the iPhone 5 C. It could have been so much more, become a great disruptor, forced other companies to start from scratch and truly reboot the mobile phone business. Instead its just a old iPhone 5 in a new plastic body."

I DISAGREE
Prahlad Kakkar
Brand Expert and Indian ad film director.
"No, it will not dilute the positioning at all. iPhone was always meant to be a mass product. Afterall its a mobile phone. Because of its look and built quality, it had a 'elite' product perception in India. But in US and many other parts of the world, it was always a mass product."

Indian Government holds the responsibility for country's current economic crisis
The value of Indian Rupee is spiraling down and overall sentiments towards Indian economy has turned negative. While everybody keep looking up to the Indian Govt. to take control of the situation, analysts rule out any immediate respite. Is this the end of road for India's shining economy? Who should be blamed for the current crisis? Could a timely intervention or a proper policy saved the day? Share your opinion.
I AGREE
Meenakshi Lekhi
National Spokesperson, BJP
UPA policies are 100% responsible for the economic mess. The country is in a state of "Andher nagari, chaupat raja" where the petrol, cooked food and beer can all are being sold at the same price. The policies pursued looks like are taken from the age of Md. Bin Tughlak.

I DISAGREE
Dr.Amir Ullah Khan
Economist and President, Glocal University
The Indian government is NOT responsible for either the fall in value or the perceived crisis. It has been pushing for all reforms that analysts have asked for but can't do much about external factors... (read more)

Euthanasia should be legalised in India
The Aruna Shanbaug case initially brought the debate of Euthanasia into limelight, after which the topic of offering mercy death to a suffering person has been widely debated. It has once again come to the forefront with the Government stating their unwillingness to enact the bill on mercy killing. Will bringing in the option of Euthanasia open up a Pandora's box of unlawful, motivated murders in disguise or will it give a way out of suffering to many like Aruna Shanbaug?

Mahesh Bhatt
Filmmaker, Writer and Social Activist
Do I have a sovereign right over my body and consciousness? If yes, I should be able to choose my exit. If the government wants to decide my exit point, I feel enslaved to their ideas of freedom.

I DISAGREE
Dr.Roop Gursahani
Neurologist and Panelist Doctor at Aruna Shanbaug Case
Euthanasia is only ethically and legally possible in a society, where the rule of law is administered without fear, favors or corruption and is ingrained in every citizen. So, at present, it is permissible only in small, homogeneous Western democracies, but not in most countries around the world, including India.

Samajwadi Party misused the name of Islam to suspend SDM Durga Shakti Nagpal
The Govt. of UP suspended SDM Durga Shakti Nagpal while saying that she endangered communal harmony by razing a Mosque's wall during the holy month of Ramzan. However, the real issue which was being perceived behind the suspension, was her drive against the sand mining mafia active in the area. Allegedly some sand mafia have connections with the political leaders in the state's ruling party. Along with the common people some Muslim groups also came in the support of the IAS officer.

I AGREE
Manish Sisodia
Sr. Leader, Aam Adami Party
Whenever elections approach some political parties try to divide the nation in the name of Hindu and Muslims. Congress and its allies try to win over Muslims while BJP and its allies target Hindus. They do their politics around Islam and Hindutva. Suspended SDM Durga Shakti belongs to a category of bureaucrats who raise their voices against the corruption. However, the matter her case took such a turn that the ruling Samajwadi Party in the state is trying to take political benefit out of it while giving a religious color to the whole situation. It is portraying that it didn't spare even an IAS officer for the sake of Islam.

I DISAGREE
Imran Ali
Advocate, Supreme Court of India
In this particular case, it is necessary to understand the incidence in the background of the Nagpal's decision. Spot order of demolishing the wall during Ramzan could have turned ugly. The decision was immature and hence the punishment followed.

The BCCI should come under RTI
The Supreme Court has ruled that the BCCI does not come under 'state' in the Indian constitution and thus RTI is not applicable. The Madras High Court has stayed proceedings that were being carried out by CIC, which was examining a RTI petition that stated that as BCCI used government resources such as land and security, it should come under the ambit of RTI.

I AGREE
Subhash Chandra Agarwal
RTI Activists
With so much notoriety induced in cricket politics involving BCCI and match fixing and black money scandals being unearthed everyday, larger national and public interest demands BCCI to be covered by RTI Act.

I DISAGREE
Ajit Wadekar
Former Indian Cricketer and Coach
Once you have the cricket body under the control of the governement, then the progress is going to hinder and there will be lots of hurdles.
