 Invitation for Research Papers to Acumen - The International Peer Reviewed Journal Published by Marian College Kuttikkanam www.mariancollege.org(ISSN 0975 - 6981 ACUMEN - Interdisciplinary Journal)

Respected Sir/Madam,

 I look forward to contribution of research papers/articles from you and your institutions/ organization for our Research Journal. The research papers will be subjected to peer review by an esteemed panel. All papers, in the prescribed format must reach the college on or before 25 September 2013.

Every year three volumes of the Acumen are brought out. Each volume focusing on Commerce, and Management, Social Work, and Computer Science. You are welcome to contribute articles in any of these areas. This Call for papers is regarding the issue on Commerce and Management.

We will be happy if you could forward this invitation letter to all the faculty members /research scholars of your College/Department/Institute.

Instructions to Authors
Preliminary Requirements
The preliminary requirements of an article, before it is processed for peer review, are as follows:
  • appropriateness of article to the Goals and Scope of Acumen
  • Confirmation to APA Reference Style;
  • have an abstract not exceeding 150 words; and article content not exceeding 5,000 words
Abstract and keywords. All manuscripts must include an abstract containing a maximum of 150 words typed on a separate page. After the abstract, please supply up to five keywords or brief phrases.
References. The reference citation for any article follows APA's standard reference style for journal articles; that is, authors, year of publication, article title, journal title, volume number, and page numbers. The citation does not include the section title. References should be listed in alphabetical order. Each listed reference should be cited in text, and each text citation should be listed in the References. Basic formats are as follows:
Aarts, H., & Dijksterhuis, A. (2000). Habits as knowledge structures: Automaticity in goal-directed behavior. Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 78, 53–63.
D'Souza, D. (1991). Illiberal education: The politics of race and sex on campus. New York: Free Press.
Hinkle, S., & Brown, R. (1990). Intergroup comparisons and social identity. Some links and lacunae. In D. Abrams & M. A. Hogg (Eds.),Social identity theory: Constructive and critical advances (pp. 48–70). London: Harvester-Wheatsheaf.
Communication
Make sure that the article, abstract, the certificates, and the author details such as name, address, e mail id, mobile no. etc. are sent as one single file.
Declaration
Authors should furnish a declaration that  the article is original, has not been published earlier, and has not been submitted for publication elsewhere.
If the author has quoted more than 500 words/a table/a figure from a published work, in the article, a copy of permission obtained from the respective copyright holder needs to be enclosed. .
Review System
If an article meets the preliminary requirements, the article will be processed for review, which could take up to 4 months. All articles are peer reviewed.
The criteria used for reviewing articles are:
  • contemporary relevance,
  • contribution to knowledge,
  • originality,
  • clarity and logic in analysis,
  • methodology (for research articles),
  • implications for intervention,
  • appropriateness of references, and
  • Language.
Copyright

The author owns the copyright of the article until the article is accepted by theAcumen for publication. After the acceptance communication, the copyright of the article is owned by the Marian College Kuttikkanam. It should not be reproduced elsewhere without the written permission of the Managing Editor (Acumen)
