I USED TO WONDER, WHETHER PEOPLE READ ALL THE BOOKS in the racks, of the Libraries and whether the brilliance of the unknown author faces, in the internet, had been read and digested. All books are not read as SIR FRANCIS BACON SAID; that only a few are DIGESTED (and digestible) and the majority books are either un- touched or only grazed. One famous Book Publisher and Printer in Chennai was telling, to me, his predicaments ,that even the best known author’s book published does not cross 1000 copies sale.
Under these circumstances, it’s a wonder that, MATERIALS OF OLD TIMES, WHEN PRINTING WAS UNKNOWN, WERE SPREAD THRO MOUTH AND HEARING, CALLED SRUTHIS AND SMRITHIS, and were well read and taken in. This was not commented from India but by then, West which never wanted to recognize the sanathana Dharma, as the oldest and always starting from Buddhism, whenever they talk about the east. Here it is mainly stated because, after the printing, many books were written, all over the world. But not only in India, but also abroad, were books never read for, real knowledge to know about the truth. Virtually there is nothing left unwritten, so as to write, anything unheard of. There were so many books prepared by the “compilations of the many records” written already and editing of the many books written already.
Most of the Indian books are nothing but the plagiarized versions. It is an Old wine in the new bottle. Even, educational materials are written by authors, by inserting parts of the old texts and released as the text for the education. We have teachers and Professors. But we don’t find in huge numbers , the Acharyas, Physicists, chemistry experts, Biologist, scientific thinkers, . There were nothing remarkable about the texts we have studied, invigorating our talents and analytical minds. Why there are no inventors in India? I don’t mean, only on discovery, but also in the deep study, of the ancient assets we have. It’s political on one side, but it’s the selfishness, to raise one’s standard of wealth, while shifting the excuses, on other factors. Even if there are a few, with the fine thinking, we will see to it, they are, nibbed in the bud. So what is the point in adding, the new books written, as one more in the pool?
Basically, people never trust the Brain, since they have the vested interest, but at the same tone will cleverly, parrot, that it’s better to keep off the desire, which elders advocated. They can’t do anything better, due to, ignorance of the, accumulated habits and the bossing over, and will still, term THE UNKNOWN as DOGMATIC. Everyone will smile away and go. Is there any attempt made to expose in simple terms for the ignorant to understand? People may say that so many books are available to educate, but do they cater the OLD PRINCIPLE enunciated in simple terms?
A good book can be written only by the person who would understand the correct concept behind and also having digested in depth. There are a few good books, but there are no takers for that because, it was not written by their cast authors. For Moral education, only software companies and no-knowledge-of what –they –are –doing, publishers venture, without the understanding of the needy minds, but inserting their own intelligence expressed, so as to force, the wrong idea as right, on the innocent victims The NO-KNOWLEDGE-GO-ABOUT, in turn are FEEDING THEM, to their wards, for the sake of the stay-put-status , in the society they are living in.
Therefore, what is there to be written other than the chewable materials and not digestible? Every fiction written is either copied from the west (who in turn take it from their back grounds), or adapted from the epics and verses of India. Why, even Cinema poets have started using the non-copy right, versions of the scriptures, for Love duet songs. They will criticize it, as that belonging to Brahmin, but if money could come in, the methods adopted will not remind them their earlier statements. Is there any fiction in any language without the interludes and basis of RAMAYANA OR MAHABHARATHA? Writing in Majority by any author, in most cases, in the world, are so repetitive that, they write with the dexerity, by change of words, expressions, language, and styles, the same central theme. For those who so for lacked to know or those who came afresh to know feel aghast by reading such materials, without any deep verifications.. In majority is there really anything new?
I remember a story. A theologist, who knew not much, went from place to place, but cautiously would ask, the crowd, whether they knew, about what is he going to speak. He was a clever dodger too. If they answer, “yes”, he would ask them why he should waste his time to tell again. If said “NO”, he would say, what is the use of telling it to “no knowledge” people. Where once, people were clever, and so pretended as partly known and partly ignorant, this clever man said that, better the ignorant learn it from the knowers. So most of the writers do the marketing and sell the books with the hooks and the books in reality don’t make them big. Hence books of repetitiveness, in new toast, are not needed. Already there are books for such purposes.
A high business end Printer once asked me, to give a gist of human Psychology, from the scriptures. He said he will take all other side of the activity. I said the learned had done it already, which are scattered over, in our land and he himself can deploy someone to edit those materials and do the other works. WHAT WE REALLY NEED IS UNIVERSAL SYSTEM OF PEACE AND CONDUCT OF LIFE. There is a book “THE 100 (50) (SO MANY NUMBERS), BOOKS THAT HAVE CHANGED THE WORLD. I could not understand the change, brought over the people in-presenti mean.
Changes and modifications are natural and without the human help, still are going on. The nature grows, every time there are incidents, by accident or by attitude. We think the change is due to that source and the causal effect was because of those things happening naturally. HE ROLLS THE INITIATIVE AND THE NATURAL EVOLUTION TAKES CARE OF. When changes are rejectable, there will be further change. When there is change acceptable, there will be a revolution. Change denotes the development in right or wrong directions, owing to the deployment of the forces used by the human race. Changes are like the flow of the river, at a point. The books are one but had there been a good change, there would not have been so many, books, within 2000 years. We change by our ego and books might cause it; the majority increases the greed and there is change; but there are a few books, which make the society secured good for living, which is also a change.
Hence, no amount of writings, of the value of the commercial exploitations is needed. If at all anything, new has to be written, it shall be, a research materials unwritten, but highly effective. It shall not kill the source in the name of change, since such materials are shown to be of declining value already. Anything written new shall be one which would expand the blossom of life. Many references may be a guide, but those references cannot be another edited book.
The emancipation in writing shall expose and transform the true meaning of the Vedic verses. That research shall be a guide, even to show that, whether there were so much of materials were really lost or hidden from the eyes of the owners. It could be to study in depth, of the insertions, by so many, enthusiasts who wanted to kill the TRUTH. Vedic and Upanishads contain contradictions, making the earlier and later stanzas look incongruent, and any researched materials would prove the genuine weeding out, as odd man out. Customs and Rituals prescribed have to be examined, not from the current point of view, since standard practices, cannot change just because, “the –supposed-to-be-followers”, do not want to follow.
The worst translations, including that of Sayana, has to be examined, and real meaning has to be found out. The word SOMA is a much misused, translation and this word had been interpreted from Persia till Ganges, in different forms. If Yagna is well interpreted, SOMA will be known. There is some people trying to attribute every deity as a symbol, in Kerala; that explanation will not fit properly; Deities worship would reveal the system of worship but the verses would indicate the root correctly. Really we have to thank the west, to make us know but Wendy-like people had also written the same insults, in different and indifferent titles, for the sake of money, which is incorrect.
The writings may be determining the period of Brahma sutra and Bagavat Gita; whether are they written by the same author around the same period or after 500BCE; why the theme is similar in both; or one was copied from the other; whether all puranas are genuine and written without insertions of incidents and ideas, unrelenting to the context; whether are there many VYASAS, ADISANKARA, AGASTYA so on; What could be the real intent of the scriptures interpreted in Puranas. So on.
The authenticity of the Astronomy, Astrology, Ayurvedam, etc shall be interpreted to prove the world that, there were pioneers in all here. Texts shall be written to help the kids, women and illiterates, to make them understand and consume. The Fast track depictions of Mumbai Merchants and other business trades, shall be reviewed, and release the relevant materials, to make mothers understand and teach their kids. Even if these things are taken as hobby by so many, some day we will stand ahead and our culture will turn a new leaf, like other countries. Proto type copying the west will diminish. There must be real materials available for people to get at the authenticity without distorting the roots. Till such time, all books are already available to refer, and one must find time and energy to go through.
