Monkey in Thailand police patrol!!! Was not Police payrol !!

Monkey in Thailand police patrol!!!

Santisuk, a five-year-old pig-tailed macaque monkey, wears a police shirt as he rides atop a patrol vehicle in Saiburi district in Yala province, Thailand.
The monkey, who was found injured, has now been adopted by local policemen.
Santisuk, which means peace in Thai, goes on patrol with the police each day.
The force believe Santisuk helps improve their image and relations with the local population in a troubled province.
Santisuk has a especially embossed shirt.
Santisuk enjoys a bottle of water.
Santisuk keeps an eye out from the patrol vehicle.
Taking a break.

Unfortunately, SANTISUKE(=peace) has entered into eternal rest sometime in the August 2010.  Please read for yourself the sad endings, which I have highlighted in red, for you.

Monkey Police Thailand

Monkey Police in Thailand?  Well it seems that a certain Short Tailed(Pig Tailed) Macaque monkey named Santisuk,  located in the troubled area of Southern Thailand, was recruited by the Royal Thai Police as a sort of mascot when one of the officers found him injured and nursed him back to health.
The officer even made the monkey a police uniform and used to take him on patrol as you can see from the attached video(sorry about soundtrack/music). I have replaced the noisy video with one from the Telegraph. If you want to watch the original
