Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) is a leading Indian educational institution, established through Meghalaya State legislative Act, 2010. 3. University Grants Commission- Sri Lanka: Mahatma Gandhi University is approved from University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka for providing it's programs in Sri Lanka  as well. The University Grants Commission (UGC) is the apex body of the University System in Sri Lanka which was established on 22nd December 1978 under the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978. The functions of the UGC are; planning and coordination of university education, allocation of funds to Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), maintenance of academic standards, regulation of the administration of HEIs and regulation of admission of students to HEIs.

4. Tertiary education Commission (TEC), Mauritius: Mahatma Gandhi University is acknowledged from TEC in Maurtitius. The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) has the statutory responsibility to determine the recognition and equivalence of academic or professional qualification at the postsecondary education level obtained in or outside Mauritius.
