The European Union won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for its historic role in uniting the continent. Nobel Committee chairman Thorbjoern Jagland says: The EU has been a key in transforming Europe from a continent of wars to a continent of peace. This is a message to Europe to do everything they can to secure what they've achieved and move forward. It is a reminder of what would be lost if the union is allowed to collapse.
This is absurd as Norwegians are bitterly opposed to the EU, seeing it as a threat to the sovereignty of nation states. Norway, the home of the peace prize, has voted No twice to joining the EU, in 1972 and 1994. The country prospers outside the EU. http://venitism.blogspot.com
I consider the European Union null and void confederation, because Europeans did not vote for any constitutional treaty! Eurokleptocrats pulled off the biggest powergrab in history by imposing a camouflaged constitution, bypassing all nonos. The Nazi dream for Europe was finally fullfilled - ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuehrer - one people, one empire, one leader.
The Lisbon Treaty is Eurokleptocracy's Pyrrhic victory. It created a confederation, Fourth Reich, without a popular foundation. EU lacks legitimacy among Europeans. Gandhi never got a Nobel prize. Stupid Al Gore got the Nobel prize for his hoodwink of anthropogenic climate scare! The fiasco of Barack Obama still looms large. In 2009, the committee awarded the current Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. It was just wishful thinking!
The 1973 prize was awarded to North Vietnamese leader Le Duc Tho and Henry Kissinger. Tho rejected the prize, telling Kissinger that peace had not been restored in South Vietnam. Kissinger for his part accepted the prize with pseudohumility. Before, during and after his acceptance of the prize, Kissinger would be implicated in assassination, war crimes and the slaughter of civilians in a large swath of countries: East Timor, Pakistan, Greece, Cyprus, Chile, Argentina, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. http://venitism.blogspot.com
